Unfortunately, once again, the ATO has let us down. Current processing times for refunds are nearing 30 days, and the ATO will not escalate returns until they have at least reached 30 days. Please be aware that the ATO at this point refuses to admit this delay in writing, however we, as Tax Agents, have been verbally advised. We are speaking to the NTAA to try and get our disappointment across to the ATO, and encourage the ATO to admit guilt via a press release. Please be assured that as soon as your refunds are with us (cheque or trust) we will be forwarding them on as quickly as we can.

We are ecstatic to announce that we have been announced the winners of the Property, Financial & Business Services category in the Mitchell Shire Business Awards 2010.

With tax season fast approaching we are mindful that many of you work office hours and need to meet with us after hours. On Thursday 24th June will confirm our availability and update our online appointment system accordingly.

We have been notified that Harris Business Solutions are finalists in the Mitchell Shire Business Awards. Our business has been selected from hundreds of nominations and has also been reviewed by independant judges. Fingers crossed for us everyone. Winners announced on June 23rd.

The ATO advises:
Lodgement date for companies FY09 tax return has been extended from 15th May 2010 to 14th June 2010.
Lodgement date for individuals and trusts has been extended from 5th June 2010 to 12th June 2010, however those with tax payable still need to have this paid by 22nd May 2010.
